Residents of the sprawling 507-unit [tag]Bay Pines Mobile Home Park[/tag], many of them dependent on nearby [tag]Bay Pines VA Healthcare System[/tag], on May 25 were served with [tag]eviction notice[/tag]s that could mean losing their homes by Nov. 30. The adjoining Bay View Mobile Home Park, a rent-only facility, also is affected by the pending evictions. It was not known when tenants, who get no civil or [tag]government relocation support[/tag], must leave.

The notices came just days after [tag]real estate developer John Loder[/tag] closed on the properties. Though conjecture was high that [tag]high-end condominiums[/tag] would be built, a press release from Loder said that “no definitive plan has been reached for the future use of the site.” Leo Plenski, a retired Philadelphia steelworker and president of the [tag]Bay Pines Mobile Park Homeowners Association[/tag], said the notices should have been served by process servers or certified mail.
