Pinellas County Electronics & Chemical Drop Off Schedule
By lipply on Feb 4, 2009 in Uncategorized
Got trash that the trash man won’t take? Trash that cannot be disposed of in the usual manner includes: automotive fluids, cleaners, fertilizers, fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, paint, pool chemicals, solvents, TVs, computers, VCRs, microwave ovens, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Pinellas County has several mobile collection services throughout the year planned to help you get rid of this stuff in an appropriate manner. It’s free and the times are Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. There’s a few items that they will not take so check their website before you head out at http://www.pinellascounty.org/utilities/mobile.htm

Now here’s an unrelated tip. If you live nearby any of these collection sites, take full advantage of the traffic coming in – schedule a garage sale or better yet if your home is on the market, have your real estate agent do an open house. You will be surprised at the interest you will receive!

Do you know of such a listing for us who live in urban Tampa? I have a bunch of tech stuff that’s out of date and I was going to trash it, but would like to bring it to a place like this instead.

Denis – you should check the Hillsborough County utilities website.

I didn’t realize that you weren’t suppose to put all of that stuff in the garbage. I mean, I don’t put chemicals into the garbage, but I throw old electronics in there all the time. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully other people like me that live in the Tampa area will be reading this too.

Great resource for your readers. I would have never thought to blog about something like this (I will now). Curious to see how many links you get as a result. In my area (a rural community) information like this is rarely published on the net.
Great work!

I wish they had services like this more often in my area of Massachusetts. They only have 2 times a year when you can get rid of all this kind of hazardous waste.
